What good is a website that
no-one visits?
Promotions...
Now that you've designed your site using some form of wysiwyg editor
and have enhanced it with a couple of pictures from your digital
camera, it's time to get it out there. How do you do that? Well,
there are a number of ways to promote a site, and most of them cost
money. We will share a couple of ideas which you may have overlooked,
yet are vital to promoting your site.
Once you get the hang of it, use your creativity to get your URL
(www.anydomain.com) out there. Our preferred ways are the least
expensive and typically the most effective. We prefer to use Olympus
digital cameras, better optics in our opinion.
- Put your URL on your stationary.
(invoices, Statements, Letterhead, Envelopes, forms...)
We know, you may have done it already, but did you think
about the forms others use? Packing Slips, Order Forms,
Purchase Orders...
- Put your URL on your vehicles.
A great looking vehicle with a stenciled URL in stick-on
letters, makes me want to know what the Company does. How
many times have you been stuck at a light and the car/truck
in front of you had their URL on it?
- Add promotional stuffers to your
invoices. You're already sending mail to your
customers, why not use that stamp to carry a message announcing
a new service on your site?
- Start / restart the company newsletter
(online). Okay, you've been there, done that,
and cant' find the time to run the newletter on a regular
basis. If it means adding 1, 2 10 or 100 customers for a
few hours time... Why can't you find the time? Make sure
it's an "opt-IN" list, otherwise you run the risk
of alienating your customers.

It might be a big mistake to overlook these simple
promotional actions. Generally, customers do not know what a company
has to offer at any given time. These simple tricks should boost
your website's exposure in the real world
There are some great resources online for promoting your website.
there are a great many others "offline". One last one
we found to be very effective is using postcards. You can try to
do it yourself, but if you're like us, and you don't want to learn
the nitty-gritties of bulk mail pricing, let the experts take over.
We've used MODERN POSTCARD
for our needs. They're inexpensive and very efficient. There are
many others to choose from and it's a good idea to shop around for
comparison sake. Your local print shop may also be a good resource.
